Product looks good and works nicely and has a light that tells you moderate and good air levels but its very difficult to register. You need to provide serial number. i looked everywhere on the product, on the accompanying paper work, on my invoice and there is no serial number. Threw the box out but I don’t think it was on it. So how does one register? Online there is an “i” next to serial number but no it doesnt work. You search on Blue air website, and there is not information. You call and you sit there and listen to “long wait times” and listen to music. So why drive th customer Crazy for such simple thing?

My stuff is always dusty and I figured that something like this could help with that, on top of the fact that I know indoor air quality is generally poor, especially compared to outside. This thing is perfect and I love it. It has auto mode (sets fan speed according to measured air quality) and three different manual speeds. I use only use either auto or low. I put it on low (I guess it’s called sleep) to sleep, because then the bright blue light doesn’t bother me since the light stays off on auto-mode. If it’s the unit in a room where I don’t sleep or it’s daytime, I leave it on auto. I smoke MJ at home and the auto-mode is so fast and sensitive that when I smoke in my living room, the unit in my bedroom very quickly detects the smoke and kicks the fan into high. The single button touch control on the top, along with it’s light indicators, are super smooth and pretty F’n awesome (can I swear here?). It looks great, too. I got a green cover and a blue cover, for the two different rooms (I have two units). So, I was able to match it to the decor. It absolutely works, helps with the air quality, AND really cut down on the dust!

I have 2 golden retrievers in my home. The dander was everywhere and I had purchased 2 other smaller purifiers to help keep it down. They did not do the job without running them on high all the time. I then purchased the bluair. What a difference it made! It cut down on the dander by 90% and is very quiet while operating on medium all day. The night feature is completely silent. IT has made a real difference in my home and I recommend this to anyone that wants/needs a great air purifier.

I love this thing. I’ve used the 411 for years, and actually treated our home to a second one for the living room next to the dog toys, which can collect dust, dander, and everything else that goes along with having a shedding outdoor pet. It’s whisper quiet (so quiet you’ll wonder if it’s working — but I promise you, it is!) and easy to move around if, say, you’re painting a room for a day.
My only balk with the product is it has a light that stays bright as long as it’s turned on. As a light sleeper, this can be distracting. I fixed it by taping over the light. But I’d love to see a dimmer or auto-off mode after it’s been running for 5 mins.
Otherwise, a terrific product at a fraction of the cost of competitors. Especially with the northeast coated in smoke right now, I can breathe easy knowing my family is surrounded by quality air. Stock up on filters, too! You’d be surprised how infrequently people change those things, and that’s what makes these things work so well.

This is about as good as you’re going to get if you’re looking for a small filtration unit for a room. This is a good quality assembly and the filtration is very effective for the size of the unit. I have this one and a larger one made by the same company that is several hundred dollars, and both perform very nicely. I recommend this smaller unit if you have a lot of rooms that are spread out, it’s probably better to have several of them. The sound of the fan is very steady, clean, and low. A consistent sound that is desirable as “white noise”. So it actually makes for a good white noise generator for sleeping, etc. I’ve seen those going for $100 that are less quality in the white noise department and don’t even filter the air.

This is now our 2nd Blue air purifier. I originally bought the smaller Blue 411+ for our bedroom and I was very impressed with how having that in our bedroom improved my lifelong allergies that I take a daily pill for. Prior to getting the smaller 411+ I would very often wake up with a stuffed nose. Yes, we do have 2 dogs but they are not allowed in the bedroom due to my allergies. I honestly didn’t have high hopes for the smaller unit but after a couple days of it purifying the bedroom air, I noticed a huge difference. I began waking up with clear sinuses and the room smelled “different”. Not a bad smell but maybe just NO smell? Anyhow, after giving the little Blue a good 30 days to prove itself, I knew I needed a larger one for our living room. This is also where our dogs (golden retriever and black lab) spend most of their time with us when they are inside. And having these 2 dogs and allergies doesn’t make life super easy as cleaning goes. I have to vacuum daily or every other day (minimum) and will at times pull up what looks like a small dog inside my vacuum canister. Especially, when my golden is blowing her coat.
Finally after comparing, I went ahead and ordered the Blue 311 Auto for our living room which is approximately 420sf.
I also bought a separate filter cover that’s shown in my pictures and an additional filter to have on hand.
The unit arrived well packaged and without damage.
It came with a main filter installed and a a light gray filter cover but tbh, I will use the light gray cover while cleaning and drying the dark gray cover I have on it now. I as I prefer the dark (name is actually Winter Reed) over the lighter gray. I also like the quality of the upgraded cover. It’s a bit thicker and looks nice.
The set up was simple. It’s really just plug it in and go.
I like that this unit has 4 mode settings and indicator lights to show air quality and when the filter needs replaced.
I have noticed one time when out of nowhere the air quality sensor light briefly turned from blue to orange then back to blue.
The light sensor color indicators and level info are Blue (good), Orange (moderate), and Red (polluted).
The main filter change sensor is supposed to switch on after 6 months of use but I haven’t had it long enough to confirm if that works yet.
For maintenance, I do run my vacuum brush over the outer filter cover once a week to clean any dust off of it which, there always is. This was also an immediate indicator to me that this fella is doing its job!
I will also run a damp cloth on the the plastic exterior at the same time just to keep it clean and in the best working condition.
Noise Level:
This 311 Auto unit has 4 modes.
✔Auto Mode: (fan speed will change depending on the air quality it senses).
✔Night Mode: (whisper quiet, low speed)
✔Everyday Mode: (medium speed)
✔Boost Mode: (fastest speed and very loud).
Boost mode is like, wind tunnel loud! Way too loud for us to watch TV in the same room if it was on. But this mode is not for everyday use. The only time I’ve used boost mode is when there is a specific reason i.e.,dogs came in from rain or I may have cooked/baked something that has a lingering smell, etc. I would just turn it on boost for 10 minutes or so to dissipate whatever the odor issue may be.
We typically have it set on auto mode or everyday mode and it’s very, very quiet. I would say auto mode is more quiet or no louder than an average fan that’s on it’s lowest speed and everyday mode is maybe as loud as a fan on medium setting.

I have now had this particular unit running 24/7 for about 2 months and we love it! We live in Washington State so when it rains and our fur babies go out for break, any “wet dog” smell is gone in minutes if I kick in the boost mode but everyday mode will also take care of that within an hour or so.
Sadly, I also know fire season will soon be upon us for summer and I have no doubt both units will do a fantastic job at keeping the quality of air inside our home filtered, clean and smelling fresh during the seasonal bad air quality.
We will be tackling a full home remodel next year which we’ll be adding central heating and air but even then, I plan on keeping both these units up and running!
Would I recommend this Blueair 311 Auto?
Absolutely 100%.
Summary: All in all, if you suffer from allergies/asthma like me, have animals, or simply a home without filtered air and are teetering on whether or not to purchase, go for it! You won’t regret it! Personally, these air purifiers have honestly changed my life! I wish I would’ve found this company sooner! I HIGHLY recommend!
If I must find something negative, I guess I would have to say their OEM filter replacements are pricey but this was not a deterrent for me. They also offer an auto ship filter service for a discount.
I give this an easy 5 star!

The item arrived quickly and worked as intended, shipped directly from the US by Amazon. It seems to be high quality and looks good. My understanding is that the benefits of this unit are: 1. looks good, 2. uses washable fabric prefilter to take some of the work away from the hepa filter, 3. contains an air quality sensor, 4. has a night mode which is quiet and where the light is dimmed, and 5. probably more importantly, uses the high quality hepa filters from Blueair. My wife trusts the Blueair filters and this is probably the most important differentiator for this product. In other respects, it is similar to other filters which are available. If you like Blueair, I’m happy to recommend this.

Tengo 2 purificadores, un dyson y este, el primero tiene control remoto y una pantallita que muestra el funcionamiento tiempo real y coincide con “lo qué pasa” en el consultorio; me recomendaron mucho este otro y en su modalidad automática hace lo que quiere, estas quemando algo y el humo pasa literal frente al aparato y no se enciende 😐…

El purificador es definitivamente agradable a la vista, bastante ligero, sencillo de utilizar pero lo más importante: Hace una diferencia en la calidad del aire de la habitación. Es un must, creo que el tema del envío podría mejorar (Fedex Economy con las nevadas tardo el doble que DHL express con las nevadas) pero lo volvería a comprar.
